Siding Contractors in West Brant, Brantford

Exterior work in Brantford's fastest-growing area, where the issue is rarely age and usually what the builder specified.

Brantford Siding Co works across West Brant, and the job here is different from anywhere else we cover.

The city’s growth area

West Brant is where Brantford is currently building. Several master-planned communities are active at once: Sienna Woods at Colborne Street West and Pleasant Ridge Road, 158 units with completion expected in 2026. Nature’s Grand is also completing around 2026, and West Brant Heights is on Shellard Lane. The area runs from the Brant Conservation area down to Gilkison Flats, with Shellard Lane and Veterans Memorial Parkway as the main corridors.

The infrastructure is following the housing. A 24-acre community park is due to open in 2026 with a cricket pitch, artificial turf field, pickleball and tennis courts, a skate park and a splash pad. Blanche E. Williams Public School is expected in September 2026 with 23 classrooms for 650 students, a childcare centre and a library branch.

Why new houses still need us

This is the part homeowners here are often surprised by. West Brant does not have the ageing aluminum problem that Echo Place has, because the stock is far too new. What it has instead is builder-grade material and volume-build installation.

Production builders specify cladding to hit a price. Thin-gauge vinyl on a wide elevation flexes under a hand, oil-cans in July, and cracks on impact in January. Installation on a fast site is where fastening discipline slips, and a panel nailed tight rather than left hanging will buckle the first hot summer. Neither is a defect exactly. Both are things worth correcting.

The other common job is upgrade. An owner who likes the house but not the flat builder profile can change the character of the elevation substantially with a deeper profile or a board and batten accent on the gable.

Exposure on open ground

Newer subdivisions have not grown their tree cover yet, which means elevations here catch wind that an established street does not. Corners and upper storeys take the highest pressure, and that is where wind damage starts. It is also why fastening quality matters more on a new subdivision than the age of the material would suggest.

The Grand River and the Brant Conservation area sit along the western edge, with 46 km of connected trails running through, so the setting is genuinely good even where the planting is young.

Siding Questions from West Brant Homeowners

My house is only a few years old. Why would it need siding work?

New does not mean faultless. Volume builders specify to a price, and thin-gauge vinyl on a large elevation buckles, oil-cans in summer heat and takes impact badly. Fastening on a fast-moving site is also where corners get cut. A lot of what we do in West Brant is correcting installation faults on cladding that is otherwise fine, or upgrading a builder-grade profile to something that holds its shape.

Can you match my subdivision's siding?

Usually, because it is recent. Current profiles and colours from the major manufacturers are generally still in production, which makes matching far easier here than on an older street. That is one real advantage of working on newer stock.

Is storm damage common in the newer areas?

Exposed elevations on newer subdivisions catch wind that established neighbourhoods with mature trees do not. Corners and upper storeys take the most pressure. If a windstorm has lifted a section, get it secured before it takes its neighbours with it.

Is my house still under builder warranty?

Possibly, and it is worth checking before you pay anyone. If the cladding fault is a workmanship issue and you are still inside the warranty period, that is a claim rather than a repair bill. We will tell you if what we are looking at appears to be a warranty matter.
